The Impact of Social Structures on Redefining the Concept of the Right to Self-Determination in Contemporary International Law
Main Article Content
Abstract
In multi-ethnic and multicultural societies, the manner in which minority rights are recognized and protected serves as a key indicator of democracy and social justice. This article adopts a sociological approach to examine the interplay between culture, power structures, and legislative systems regarding the status of minorities. The study aims to provide a sociological analysis of legal processes concerning minorities; utilizing a descriptive-analytical method, it elucidates how cultural, economic, and political factors influence the formulation of legal policies. The findings indicate that structural and cultural divides play a significant role in restricting minorities' access to equal rights, and that achieving social justice is impossible without reforming societal attitudes and implementing inclusive policies.
